Cushing, Oklahoma Alcohol And Drug Rehab Centers
About the city of Cushing, Oklahoma
The city of Cushing sits northeast of Oklahoma City and directly west of Tulsa with a population of approximately 9,600 residents (2009). During the Land Run of 1891 was when the city was originally established and then the city witnessed its largest initial growth spurt in 1912 as a result of the oil boom in the earlier decades of the 20th century. The city today is still a major trading hub where crude oil is concerned.
The DEA views Oklahoma as more of a transshipment state for illegal substances rather than a state where they are widely distributed. The east-west corridor of I-40 and the north-south one of I-35 are the main trafficking routes into and through the state. Even though Oklahoma is viewed as a transshipment state, it is not without its drug addiction and dependency problems. Crystal meth and methamphetamines as well as cocaine in both crack and powder form are considerable problems throughout the state.
